Why is a three and one-half year time span spoken of in a number of passages in the apocalyptic books of Daniel and Revelation? Twice in Daniel and five times in the book of Revelation this time period is specifically mentioned.
This period is repeated with such frequency because it is earth's most consequential and significant moment since Jesus Christ's first coming. Indeed, it is the soon coming last 3 years which will just precede Christ's second coming. And God wants us to be informed about it.
It will be a time unprecedented: for evil, for the nations, for the church. As Jesus and the angel in the closing chapter of the book of Daniel said
A time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. (Daniel 12:1, Mt. 24:21, Mk. 13:19).
The last chance and final judgment for this age, as it clashes with the age to come. In the fullness of time, in the closing of this dispensation: one final monstrous assault will be allocated. Spearheaded by the devil himself. Who in his pride and rage will desire the destruction of everything; and come against all that is called god, and try to make a determined end to the people of God.
An end time leader will rise up so beastly, so possessed he will publicly and openly curse god. He will claim to be god and to be worshipped as god. And all nations and peoples of this time will be given an ultimatum--allegiance or death.

And just when all seems lost and hopeless, and Gods people defeated--the seventh and last trumpet will sound--and the hope of all ages shall come. The ending of the last  3 years will usher in the never ending Kingdom of God on earth with Jesus Christ as its king. And the saints, whose power and testimony all thought had been broken, shall miraculously rise again to serve alongside their King of Kings, and their Lord.
For He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. Dan. 7:14
God has put the last days in his book. In these times, it would be prudent for us to search them out. As to the passages on the 3 years they should be put together as one--for they are one period of time--to get a panorama, an overview of its happenings, its main events, and characters and distresses. And like the pieces of a puzzle when joined together, it will reveal its own time; and form its own picture.
God does not want these days to take shape and come upon us like a thief.
For you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night…But you brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 1 Thess. 5:2,4
Lets take a fresh look at this time, and the seven passages which specifically speak of this 3 year period.
